Berry Pulls Double Duty in Night of 1,000 Stars

Tom Berry Jr. thundered into Hancock County Speedway (Britt, Iowa) on Friday night to pull double duty in the Night of 1,000 Stars.

In IMCA Stock Car competition, 25 racers were on hand for battle, and Tom advanced from seventh-to-fourth in his heat race to earn the eighth-starting spot for the feature.

Passing six competitors in the 20-lap feature, he notched a runner-up finish at the checkered flag behind Kelly Shryock with Troy Swearingen, Heath Tulp, and Donavon Smith completing the Top 5.

Meanwhile, in IMCA Modified competition Berry was up against a field of 31 competitors. He raced from eighth-to-fourth in his heat race, which positioned him 13th on the starting grid for the 50-lap feature.

Unfortunately, he would be an early retiree to a 19th-place finish.

Saturday night's Night of 10,000 stars was postponed by inclement weather.
