Berry Back on Top at Boone
Tom Berry Jr.'s latest start came on Saturday night at Boone (Iowa) Speedway, and his latest win came on Saturday night as well. Tom increased his 2022-win total to 18 with a victory in the IMCA Super Nationals Tune-Up - P1P Challenge - Watermelon Classic.
Twenty-six entries invaded the famed oval, and Tom's outing began with a sixth-to-second run in the P1P Modified Challenge.
He then set fast time in his group in qualifying for the main show before racing form fourth to second in his heat race.
Starting 11th on the feature grid, Berry Jr. took the lead with just three laps remaining in the 25-lap affair. He was followed across the finish line by Cody Laney, Tim Ward, Jeremy Mills, and Todd Shute.
