Berry Doubles Down at Cedar County Raceway

Tom Berry Jr. enjoyed a successful weekend at Cedar County Raceway (Tipton, Iowa) with back-to-back wins, which gave him a sweep of the Hoker Trucking Fall Bash.

Action opened on Friday night with a $1,500-to-win program as 41 IMCA Modified entries converged on the Iowa oval. Tom won his heat race from the pole and via the redraw earned the seventh-starting spot for the 30-lap feature.

Tom first edged ahead into the lead on the ninth circuit before taking the lead for good on lap 15.

He crossed the finish line ahead of Dylan Thornton, Shane DeMey, Joel Rust, and Jake McBirnie.

On Saturday evening the winner's share increased to $3,000, and for the second-straight night Tom won his heat from the third-starting spot.

Rolling off the grid from the sixth position for the 50-lap finale, Berry Jr. power to the top spot on lap eight and gained a lead he'd never relinquish.

His 23rd triumph of the season came over Dylan Thornton, Chris Simpson, Dustin Kroening, and Brad Dierks.
