Berry Jr. posts IMCA Stock Car victory at Stuart, 4th in Modified at Boone

Tom Berry Jr. continued his recent run through Iowa as August ended and September began, starting by taking the checkered flag in an IMCA Stock Car.

On Thursday, the last day of August, Berry jumped behind the wheel of the Team 3W No. 11x to contest the IMCA Stock Car division in the Fever Heat Classic at Stuart Speedway (Stuart, Iowa). A total of 16 cars were in search of the $750 top prize in the class at the quarter-mile oval.

Berry won his heat race and started the 20-lap main event from the eighth position. He moved into the lead on Lap 5 and never looked back, taking the win by 3.598 seconds over Jake Sachau. Josh Daniels rounded out the podium, with Brock Badger taking the fourth spot and Bandon Pruitt coming home fifth.

The win was Berry’s 10th A-Main triumph overall in 2023.

Next up, Berry climbed aboard the No. 11x IMCA Modified for Saturday's Prelude to the Super Nationals at Boone Speedway (Boone, Iowa). A whopping 131 Modifieds attempted to qualify for one of two 30-lap, $1,500-to-win feature events at the 1/3-mile speed plant.

Berry drove from fourth to second in his heat race, starting him 14th in his A-Main. He climbed 10 spots to register a fourth-place result, finishing behind Jimmy Gustin, Dylan Thornton and Cody Laney. Jake McBirnie completed the top five.
