TBJ notches first Late Model win of 2024 at Benton County Speedway

The two-day Hawkeye 100 brought Tom Berry Jr. to Marshalltown (IA) Speedway over the weekend to compete in the Modified portion of the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series doubleheader.

On Friday, Berry started the night off strong with a fourth-to-second run in his heat race but was sidelined before the checkers flew in the 20-lap feature.

After fading to 19th in Saturday’s finale, Tom made a guest appearance in the Late Model ranks on Sunday at Benton County Speedway (Vinton, Iowa) for the Pro Late Model Victory Ford Tour sanctioned contest.

Aboard the Rick Bauer ReMax Home Group No. 11 entry, Berry’s runner-up heat showing positioned him on the front row for the feature. Outrunning J.D. Auringer in the 25-lap affair, Tom stormed to a flag-to-flag victory to claim the $1,250 payday and his first Late Model victory of the 2024 campaign. He recorded his 15th overall victory 0.595 seconds ahead of Auringer with Matt Ryan joining the podium.
